Don Hanlon Johnson is the founder of the Somatics Psychology Program at the California Institute for Integral Studies.  Long ago, he did his doctoral dissertation in philosophy at Yale in the relation between the individual body and the social body, which sent him out on his subsequent career of exploring various avenues for embodiment, both theoretical and practical.  He has created a long series of invitational seminars involving practitioners, medical scientists, psychologists, spiritual teachers, and artists from several corners of the world to address the implications of Somatics for reshaping the institutions of society. He has written several books and articles on the role of the experienced body in crafting a more just and inclusive social order.
