Muriel Jamille Vinson
An African American scholar, dancer, musician, writer, activist. A descendant of North, West and South Africans as well as enslaved Africans, and a practitioner of West African drum and dance, Muriel has personally engaged with the dynamics and healing power present in Africentric embodiment practices including song, drum and dance. Currently training as a somatic psychotherapist, Muriel seeks to highlight Africentric somatic practices, including practices of the African Diaspora, and contextualize their potential use in addressing intergenerational trauma.
